Mr Somani brings to the table more than three decades of rich and diverse management experience. During last 20 years of his career, he was Executive Director and CEO with Piramal Group. He has managed businesses in India and Europe. In one of the business verticals (PMP Auto) at Piramal group, he increased the business from Rs10 Cr to Rs 210 Cr per year. Mr. Somani was instrumental in developing complete new business with reputed automotive OEM customers. Acquired new customers such as Maruti, VW, Tafe, Mahindra, TATA, Eicher, Force Motors, Sonalika, Renualt Nissan ets. Under his leadership, PMP acquired two wiper motor companies in Europe (in Hungary, 2007 and in Prague, Czech Republic, 2008). He turned around these companies from negative 24% to positive 20% at EBIDTA level. As a global CEO of PMP, he innovated and implemented several strategic initiatives to turnaround the European companies. He was instrumental in transferring technology from Europe to India to set up a world class facility in India for global supply to VW, Skoda, Maruti Suzuki, Renault Nissan and PSA. He developed a team of qualified managers to manage the business growth in Europe and India.
